Sunset and Seaglass

Unable to join last May's outing with my friends and constantly feeling like I haven't enjoyed summer enough, I decided to join an outing with my high school classmates.

We went to Lilom Resort in Anilao, Batangas. The last time I was in Anilao was when I had my certification for scuba diving and that was four years ago. I've always wanted to go back because even though the beach is not very good for swimming, Anilao has amazing reefs. It's a protected marine sanctuary and therefore it's heaven for scuba diving and snorkeling.

Lilom Resort is a simple but super charming and comfortable resort with excellent customer service. The design of the whole place is both beautiful and functional. They serve delicious homecooked food. It's a very relaxing place although the stairs that lead to it from the main road is a challenge especially if you're not in good physical condition. In any case, it's a place that I'm willing to go back to.

That was a much needed relaxation. The loud waves crashing and receding against the rocks and corals by the shore was like music, I didn't even have to pop my earphones to listen to Birdy or to Ed Sheeran (lol). The environment was enjoyable and therefore it wasn't difficult to restrain myself from surfing the internet while we were there. And thankfully, it didn't rain during our stay! Definitely a great weekend.

I had a blast with ICE (Institute of Civil Engineering) during the weekend, courtesy of our institute director, Doc A. Almost all the young instructors and a number of the professors went to Doc A's resthouse by the beach in Batangas.

It's my first trip to the beach this year that's why I was very excited. The area was very private with very few people, which is great!

We arrived Saturday noon. In the afternoon, Doc A took out his speedboat and drove us around. When we rode the speedboat, I felt like I was in the movies. I felt like a million dollars haha!

At 3:00pm, clouds covered the sun and low-tide approached so we were able to enjoy the beach a lot minus the sunburn. We swam and played in the sea until 6:30pm, had dinner and played games until 2:00am.

Sadly, after this shot, my camera's battery died. The sunset was really beautiful!

The next day, Doc A took out his jetski and everyone took turns to ride it. Now that's one thing off my bucket list! I only rode the jetski for a while but I enjoyed a lot! The sea was clear (not much people, not much boats) that's why I was able to drive fast!

Storm Stories

Funny. I had no idea that classes were suspended last Friday. I was already about to go to class when a co-instructor told me about the suspension.

Anyway, I decided to just stick around UP and work. I was so motivated to work until late afternoon. Sir Christian and I even went out to buy chips and coffee so we'll have something to munch and drink while working. However, after we returned from buying food at around 9am, electricity decided to die. All we did was eat and talk while waiting for electricity to come back. At around 12nn, we ate lunch and still, no electricity. We were informed that work also got suspended so we gave up on the electricity. I decided to go to SM North with Sir Rain and Sir Christian and solved ES 12 problems at Krispy Kreme.

Remember that only summer outing I had last summer? When I went with my friends and my brother? And a storm decided to come at the start of May? We didn't have a lot of photos. But here are a few lomo shots by Kyle just right before we left the beach. I don't think he'll mind that I'm posting these here.
