Storm Stories

Funny. I had no idea that classes were suspended last Friday. I was already about to go to class when a co-instructor told me about the suspension.

Anyway, I decided to just stick around UP and work. I was so motivated to work until late afternoon. Sir Christian and I even went out to buy chips and coffee so we'll have something to munch and drink while working. However, after we returned from buying food at around 9am, electricity decided to die. All we did was eat and talk while waiting for electricity to come back. At around 12nn, we ate lunch and still, no electricity. We were informed that work also got suspended so we gave up on the electricity. I decided to go to SM North with Sir Rain and Sir Christian and solved ES 12 problems at Krispy Kreme.

And other storm stories.

Remember that only summer outing I had last summer? When I went with my friends and my brother? And a storm decided to come at the start of May? We didn't have a lot of photos. But here are a few lomo shots by Kyle just right before we left the beach. I don't think he'll mind that I'm posting these here.

Weekend Baking and Crocheting

It may not be a long weekend for me as I had review class the whole day of Saturday and Sunday. But that didn't stop me from enjoying my weekend.

I made mocha chiffon cake with buttercream icing last Saturday night for Father's Day despite being tired from review class that day and having another review class the following day. I just miss baking so much and Father's Day is a good excuse to bake. It tastes good but there was something wrong with the texture. And it was a bit heavy for a chiffon cake, not airy enough. Also, the buttercream icing was a little gritty. Next time, I'll use Swiss meringue buttercream instead. :) Nevertheless it tasted good.

But because I felt dissatisfied by the mocha chiffon cake, I made banoffee pie today. When my mom told my dad "May ginawang banoffee pie si ate." My dad said "Ah, kasi hindi niya na-perfect yung cake niya." My dad was so right! Haha. It has always been a habit. Whenever I'm dissatisfied by my work, I repeat it or do something to make up for it.

However, there's something wrong again. It tastes really good but the "toffee" wasn't toffee but caramel instead haha. It was runny (I didn't cook it long enough) so I decided to freeze it but our freezer won't freeze properly. Nevertheless, I'm already satisfied with it so there's not much need to repeat immediately.

I also crocheted two beanies this weekend. The striped one is an overdue commission. I'm just glad they're both done. And my clients can wear them in this weather.

A Love Letter

Dear You,

I'm not exactly trying to find you. I just hope that we cross paths one day and then always share the same path afterward.

Once a month, I get really cranky (and you'll notice because I grow pimples around the same time) so I hope you can bear with that. It's nothing a bearhug can't fix, anyway.

Sometimes (if not often), I'll do sweet gestures so I hope you won't mind and you'll appreciate them. But if I ever get too clingy and demanding, just say so.

You'll know that I like baking and cooking so I hope you'll eat, love and crave for what I bake and cook. Maybe you can help out in the kitchen too.

As much as I take care of people, I tend to forget to take care of myself sometimes. Please take care of me. I'll do the same to you always.

I love hugs. They make me strong. Please hug me whenever I'm happy or sad, encourage me whenever I'm on the verge of giving up, cheer me on whenever I'm working hard and give me a backpat whenever I do a good job. I'd love to give you lots of bearhugs, encouragement, cheering and backpats too!

If we don't agree on something, let's talk about it and let's compromise. I don't like misunderstandings.

Let's converse a lot, I like that. Tell me your stories, share your hobbies. But let's also have quiet time sometimes (like maybe doing our own business or simply meditate beside each other without having to talk). And of course let's have time for ourselves for we don't have to stick with each other 24/7.

Don't worry. I'm not that high-maintenance. We can just go to Maginhawa Street for our dates (the places there aren't very expensive or at least not yet). Pretty (and probably expensive) restaurants are nice but only once in a while. I'll take you out too once in a while. Or maybe when we're both on tight budget, we can just hang out at home and watch movies (pirated or torrent copy) while eating chips and homecooked food.

Let's go to places. I'd like to go to random parks and places (cheap or otherwise), to Philippine beaches, to Europe, to Japan, to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter etc. Let's travel and learn things together. Isn't that awesome?

Me

Oh wow, first love letter I've written! And no, I'm not looking for a boyfriend. Just something for the future. Haha. I wrote this maybe more than a month ago but I only managed to post it today.
